Thank you for your support!

With the year wounding down, the bills getting bigger, the economy in a recession, you, the UTSC community, came out and gave us all the change you could.

With our Coffee Break event, which seen proceeds go towards the Alzheimer Society of Toronto, we raised just over $230.

What was more astounshing was that most of the money raised was donated by many of you, without the need of a cup of coffee.

All of UTSC students and faculy definately have a big heart and CMC salutes you for that.

More about the event:

Coffee Break donations go to the Alzheimer Society of Toronto to ensure that people whose lives have been impacted by Alzheimer's Disease can connect to a community of information, support and education. Thank you for supporting a great cause. If you cannot volunteer, don't sweat it.  Come out and enjoy a coffee while making a difference at the same time.

The Big Give! has been postponed.

First of all, thank you very much for offering to support such a great event.  Unfortunately, with very little time to get this event up and running, we have had to make a undesirable decision to postpone this event for after the winter break.  We believe that with time, we will be able to give volunteers, like yourself, a longer notice before the actual event, and more of a chance to help contribute in the planning of the event itself.

I truly hope this not discourage you in any way and that you will continue to support our great causes, as without volunteers like yourself, who have given the time to make things happen, there would be no fundraising for such causes and no awareness for the social and cultural issues that surround not only UTSC or Toronto, but the world as a whole.

We do hope to make you a bigger part of this event, and so we hope you will keep a look out for this event in a month's time.

Good luck on your exams and best wishes during the holiday season,

And the Raffle Winners are...

During our "Shine Like a Rockstar" concert for Shinerama, we had a FREE raffle.  That's right, FREE!  So if you missed it, you missed out big.

We just couldn't wait to say Thank You!

Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!

We just wanted to say Thank You! to everyone that showed up to our concert that was held in the Student Center this past Thursday, Sept. 25th, 2008 and that contributed to our cause.

We raised an astounding $417 with a 2 hour show.

This would not have been possible without a lot of help, not just the CMC Executive Team, but a whole lot of individuals that need to be recognized:

First off, we wanted to thank our performers:

Prof. Steve Joordens and his band: Delusions of Grandeur
Charmaine D'Souza
Chantelle Walters

We would also like to thank the following individuals for giving us a hand with administrative and logistic support:

Drew Dudley (Shinerama)
Rob Wulkan (Shinerama)
Andre Vashist - VP of Campus Life - Our MC for the show
Joel Clark - Business Manager of SCSU
John Aruldason from Fusion Radio

First time volunteers; without these individuals, we would not have had a smooth show:

Fahad
Asma
Jismy
Farhana
Krisnameera
Olivia
Sally
